Spotlight Knight Of The Month

William Talamantes

Welcome to the Knights of Columbus -
Council #11136
St. Francis Council was chartered on June 17th, 1993. Father John Aurilia was pastor of St. Francis de Sales at the time, and was instrumental in the formation of the council, along with the founding members. The council is very active with all the Knights programs including KOVAR, Keep Christ in Christmas card sales, Pancake Breakfasts, the Parish Blood Drives, Food Collection Drives, as well as supporting programs for the poor, disaster relief and community activities.

In recent years, St. Francis Council has been honored by receiving the prestigious Double Star Council Award for their outstanding performance for the fraternal year. Only about 10% of the councils in Virginia win the Star Council Award, and only about 10% of those councils also earn the Double Star Award. So, St. Francis has been in the top 10% of the top 10% in the State. We're honored by this achievement and invite all Catholic men to join our council and help us continue to make a difference.

Council Location
St. Francis Council meets at the Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church within sight of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. From the Route 7 Bypass, take Route 287 exit (Berlin Turnpike) north, go less than I mile and then turn left onto St. Francis Court. The church buildings are about a half mile on your right.

Council Meetings
The council meets every 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7:30 PM in the Parish Hall of St. Francis de Sales Church. The Parish Hall is located at the far right of the building complex. Enter from the ground floor double doors around the right side of the building. Council Meetings are restricted to active Knights with a valid membership card unless otherwise stated.
